DIY XMAS Bandsaw reindeer:Simple christmas holiday decoration from scrap or firewood!

In the last 6 or 7 years or so I must have made well over 200 of these bans reindeer, they take only a few minutes to make. Mostly I use large lumps of old brand, or chunky timber, but it’s easy to laminate timbers up to make the larger blanks.
These sell really well at christmas craft stalls and fairs, and make totally unique gifts and decorations. the bigger your bandsaw the bigger the reindeer you can make, this is only a 10″ bandsaw, and the you can still get some good size decorations out of a blank. the biggest limitation is the blade size… Here I use a 3/16″ blade. a 1/8″ blade is best. Although this bandsaw says you can only use 1/4″-1/2″ blades installed, by playing around with the bearings and guides, I have used 1/8″ inch blades. but had a lot of them break. I’ve found 3/16″ gives the best “tight curves:blades braking” ratio.
