fall collage kids craft

Here is a fun collage project for kids. You will need tissue paper (or party streamers), glue sticks, blue, brown and green construction paper, a pencil and white glue as well as scissors. This fun technique will keep kids happily crafting for about 45 minutes! More on my blog: Music credit (if music is present in video) Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)

I'd say preK-3rd grade. You can teach about why leaves change color. Art lessons can be learning about texture, collage, complimentary colors (see how vivid the orange is next to the blue, they are opposite colors on the color wheel) and it will enhance a child's fine motor skills.

Thanks for sharing this.  I am adding it to a book review I am doing where the illustrator used a multi-media collage style.

OMG! I went to Catholic elementary school and we did this for every 'art' project we did. It always involved the pencil and tissue paper and Elmer's glue! Lol love this though and would love to show my kids how! TFS!

We did this project in Girl Scouts.  Wow! The kids were really creative.  We used the inside of a Starbucks bag for the trunk.  One gal left the word Starbucks on hers.  She also took the tree right off the top of the page.  Adults can learn a lot watching kids create!
