Tim Chadsey is a bespoke furniture maker.
He uses British, European and North American hardwoods and, where appropriate, veneers, Tim ensures that he and his clients can be certain of the origin and sustainability of the wood. Tim also likes to recycle old pieces of furniture into new designs.
Time was born in Toronto, came to England to study photography and then settled in London working as a still-life photographer for 25 years. One of Tim’s first photographic commissions was for a bespoke furniture company and he was deeply impressed by the beauty of the wood and the quality of the craftsmanship. The memory of this stayed with him and so it seemed natural that when he was looking for a new creative focus, he turned to furniture making.
After training Tim joined the workshop of Alan Englefield where he worked on commissions for some of England’s finest designers and then set up his own workshop in 2008.
