You forgot to sand paper the walls you dip shit. Painting without sand papering makes it look so much less crisp.

This is actually super helpful. My boyfriend and I just got a house and the previous owners not only had bad taste in wall colors, but also did not know how to paint a wall.

I have a question. Hope you can help. I got hired to finish a paint job for a new construction interior. The last painter sprayed the walls first and my task is to spray all the trim. What is the best way to spray the trim and not get any paint on the painted walls?

A trick I learned that does work' is instead of scraping the plaster cracked lines out & filling them w/plaster is to instead use a paintable caulk that expands & contracts & smear it into the cracks w/a putty knife' or better yet use your finger. Let dry & apply your paint at the same time do your caulking of all seams, such be your trim. Just do your preparations ahead of time & take your time. I am a good man to have on hand' Dave the handyman!

I'm a painter of 15yrs. Some of the stuff you did was not only wrong but also a waste of money. You did great with the caulking. But that static tape and plastic stuff is crap and is probably more expensive then it is to get a couple rolls of tape and a roll of plastic. I could cover a whole house by myself with tape and plastic probably quicker then you could a room or two. 2nd is when you seen that crack you should of not only put a heavier 1st coat of spackle so that the tape would stick 100percent to it but also should of used the other drywall tape. Js. Waste of money was using tape to pull off the hairs of your roller. If you take a new roller and put it under the faucet and stroke it downwards it will get all the hairs and fibers out in less the 3min. Also if your using an oil base primer you should absolutely not put it in the freezer afterwards cause once it thaws out it will have alot of condensation in and on it and as we all know water and oil do not mix! You should wrap it in paper and put in a half can of thinner. And those roller trays your using are for DIY people not pros! Is a 5 gal bucket filled up about half way and a grid and your golden and is quicker! Just my tips and tricks of the trade. God bless brotha
