House Tour: An Interior Designer’s First Small Home

Discover a seriously stylish space as designers Heather Lewis and Rania Ismail of Fohr Design Studio tour the semi-detached home they outfitted for Heather, her husband and their baby girl. See how they used a monochromatic palette throughout the home, from the high-contrast living room, office and nursery to the black kitchen with gold accents. Get their tips on how to brighten a space that lacks natural light, and see how they brought personality to the home without using color.

Love this, you girls are great! Love the design. Please, though, could you not end every sentence like a question? It takes away from the quality of the video.

I LOVE color, but this home is actually quite striking! It's very similar to mine…I live in a townhouse, too…except I don't have that back room past my kitchen. Sure would be nice, though.

Can I say lots of my sentences as a question? It's a nice house? I'm sure they'll enjoy it? Thanks for uploading?

I don’t understand people who talk as if they’re asking a question when they end their sentences. It is very distracting and I always wonder who taught these folks to speak with this type of inflection…

Very nicely done. Enjoy the video. Based of my experience with dark color is they tend to get old very quickly. After a few years u stand back want a very light and vibrant look hence will have to change everything again. Again just basing off my own experience.

Another blah white design with black as an accent. Those pillows and throws remind me of a prison outfit. I guess if the owner is happy that is all that matters. But still blah.

This is gorgeous! Everything flows together beautifully! I'm not a huge fan of black but wow, this place is spectacular. That kitchen is so glam! I love the black cabinets with the gold hardware and light floors. The white countertops are so crisp. And who would have thought that you could have a dining room table that seats six in such a small house? Yes, the house is small, but it came together beautifully and you just don't notice the size. And so many people live in small spaces and it's wonderful to see that it can be gorgeous and functional and yet not be huge. I love the IKEA shelving painted gold. Really pretty. All of these little details from the gold touches to the black sequins on the pillows in the living room really amp up the glam factor. I would love to live here. You guys knocked this out of the park! One of my favorite makeovers in some time on this channel. Very, very well done!

It's a bit too sterile for my taste. The large mirror leaning against the wall next to the small sofa was a bit odd. I would like to see the furniture scaled better fr the space. Small sofa next to extremely large table with chairs that were too small for the table.
The floors did not go wit the decor. However, I can understand that there was a budget and you do what you like within those confines.
