How To: DIY Modern Kitchen Cabinet Remodel | Update Cabinets on a Budget | Modern Builds | EP. 46

Today on Modern Builds I’m transforming some old, outdated kitchen cabinets into modern, slab-style cabinets. This is a simple DIY project that is great for weekend (or two) project.

Obviously a sink is getting installed. It was ordered online and has since been installed. There’s a picture on my Instagram @modernbuilds if you’re interested in checking it out.

Are you putting the sink in later? Ir it just wasn't needed?

This uh, this actually makes no sense to me. Sure, the old one was not modern, but it was much higher quality. Why on earth would you switch hard oak for cheap MDF? At least use some decent wood.
It's like taking a genuine granite countertop and replacing it with plywood. I'd even wager that this brought down the market value of the house depending on where this is located.
    All that said, excellent handiwork.

Fantastic! Bought my first house this past year and have been following you for project ideas. Would love if you could also add rough estimates of price by piece of material, as well as overall cost and time.

    Keep it up!

Should have just taken them down whole. placed in garage/different location, sold them, etc. Just to use the existing shelves….Just my point of view

Hello love how you did this up date. I live in a trailer and the cabinets are cheap. The have no middle shelf, just wide boxes. I want to redo them and put a middle shelf. Have any ideas on how I can do this?
