How To Make Royal Icing Bows!




Before I left for Japan earlier this month, I wanted to make something cute and delicious to bring to my hosts and class organizers, Yuki of Creative Edibles by Yuki and her partner Keiko of Sugar Sugar. I made these royal icing bows using the transfer method and dusted them with a little bit of pink pearl dust before placing them on the heart cookies. I think they really enjoyed them!

Here’s what you’ll need for this project:

Heart and square cookies (my Orange Vanilla Spice cookie recipe is available in my tutorial shop)
12″ decorating bags
Pink stiff consistency royal icing
Flood consistency royal icing in white and blue
Scribe tool
Hard, portable surface such as a sheet tray or piece of Plexiglass with bow template covered in wax paper
Decorating tip 2
Pink pearl dust (from NY Cake or Wilton)
Soft brush for applying pearl dust
Offset spatula for removing bows

Colors:
Pink: Wilton Aster Mauve from the Garden Tone set
Blue: Wilton Delphinium Blue from the Garden Tone set
