Imagine your room completely empty. No furniture no stuff inside. Draw this rough floor plan in your on a piece of paper.
Now start drawing paths that will go between any entries into the room to any other entry into the room.
For example path running between Main door & kitchen. Path between living room & bathroom. Path between bedroom to main door.
People by default take the quickest route, that being a straight line.
All these are Natural traffic patterns, these are path where people will walk when the room is empty.
Now start bringing in stuff inside your room keeping these paths in mind.
You may not be able to take care of all the paths, but try to keep them free as much as possible.
Lets solve a problem inside this floor plan.
(discuss plan with traffic line between TV & seating arrangement).
