Actually it was composed by Thomas Newman and it's from the movie American Beauty…it is called 'Arose' you know architecture is a serious intellectual thing i'm surprised an intern and/or a firm would claim it as theirs…

@Justin it depends what kind of curve you are going for? I made a curved bridge out of wood by laser cutting pieces from a side view until it was the right thickness.

don't use regular school glue, use hot glue or glue sticks and double sided tape. School glue gets messy, glue sticks are okay, but you usually don't need glue, I know people who rarely use glue, they use double sided tape instead. It doesn't make sense to use scotch tape or masking tape when joining walls, and installing wall fixtures etc because scotch and masking tape only sticks to one side, use double sided tape.

A foam core board model is good for constructing and studying the basic shape of the structure. But, if you want to see the actual building materials including siding, roofing and details, I recommend building with the 3-D Home Kit, which can be found online. You can also combine the foam core board and material sheets from the kit.

Thank you for this tutorial. While it's clear this series was prepared for architectural students who are in need of instruction in the rudiments of model making, the clear presentation of these basic elements has allowed me to take advantage of numerous other online tutorials more effectively.

What material can be used to create a rounded home? Foam board would be too rigid.
