Water Fountain 3 tier project – install

I got this fountain off of craigslist when the guy couldn’t sell it and threatened to destroy it with a jack hammer. I e-mailed him and said please don’t destroy it, ill take it for free and so he said to come and get it.
It was set up in my back back yard from 2006 till September of 2009 when I set it up. I already had the pump from a pond I used to have.

That's awesome you were able to salvage the fountain.  One man's junk is another mans treasure indeed.  Any plans for the rest of your backyard?  Thanks for posting!

Nice!! I am in the exact same position and have been testing the one I received (Free) since 2011 after painting. I was looking for ideas on how to install. With only a few minor changes (Easier Pump removal and gravel base) this is exactly what i was looking for!! great Video!

I would have poured a concrete pad the same size as the base. Those blocks will settle later.

I made the middle area below the fountain hollow by lifting the base on blocks. It provides access to the pumps electrical for maintenance. For over 5 years now we have rare arroyo toads that hide in the cavity below the fountain, their on the endangered species list. We live in SoCal, I thing thats cool. They like the moisture & i'm sure the cavity stays cool curing the summer months. I am happy with the fountain & it has been a treat to hear running water out back, the fountain is quite loud, the neighbors enjoy it too. The backyard has evolved too…

Hey Mike. Thx for the video. I am actually getting one just like it from a guy. It is about 4ft in diameter. Is that the same as yours? I have to figure out a way to move it so I am trying to determine weight. You think the basin is really 1000 pounds?

The pump is too strong. Water is splashing everywhere. Tone it down
